BTCCSquare news:

CoinMarketCap has issued repeated warnings about fraudulent 'CMC-Tokens' circulating in the crypto market. The platform explicitly stated on X (formerly Twitter) that it has no native token, labeling any promotions for such assets as outright scams. This alert follows similar warnings issued on July 25 and August 6, highlighting an escalating trend of impersonation schemes targeting both retail and experienced traders.

The company emphasized it never initiates phone contact and lacks an official phone number, urging users to verify all communications. Meanwhile, regulatory scrutiny intensifies as DC Attorney General Brian Schwalb filed a lawsuit against Athena Bitcoin, alleging the crypto ATM operator facilitated scams—with 93% of its early DC transactions reportedly tied to fraud.
